as written in the weekly column, “Sharon’s Ramblings,” by Sharon

Like a patchwork quilt, these stories weave in and
out of our lives in a disarray of emotions.
The editorial, "Sharon's Ramblings," came to be
quite by accident. Having space left in my newly started weekly shopper
that I published for our southeast Alaska town of Sitka, I decided to throw
in a piece I'd written for the creative writing class I was taking a the
local college.
The response was immediate as readers
called to say how much they enjoyed reading my story, which
shared memories of breakfast time at my grandmother's when I
was small. And so began a column that would continue during
my 7 years of publishing the Sitka Soup.
